Medical emergencies demand a prompt response and a highly trained staff. The Department of Critical Care Medicine at Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) provides world-class emergency care 24 hours a day, seven days a week to patients in potentially life-threatening conditions requiring life support system and other intensive medical interventions.
A multi-disciplinary team of critical care specialists provides broad-ranging consultative, diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with life-threatening conditions. These patients require advanced monitoring and care in the Intensive Care Unit setting. We provide full spectrum of ICU or Critical Care Unit (CCU) services by speciality-trained, efficient and skilled physicians round the clock.
Patients approach us with the entire gamut of critical care problems and we provide all of our resources necessary to manage critical illness, including all channels of mechanical ventilation, mechanical support of the circulation and support of critical organ systems including Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). Besides our exemplary clinical excellence, we are proud of our achievements over many years in devising advanced ways of supporting life clinically.
The outcomes for patients through our Critical Care Unit (CCU) are outstanding. The dedication and skills of all clinicians are simply overwhelming. We endeavour to monitor and enhance our clinical practices continuously so that we can be path-breaking, devise new treatment paradigms and upgrade efficient resource utilization. Innovation comes from our dedicated research program, with the prime focus on areas related to traumatic brain injury, resuscitation and early warning systems, mechanical support of the circulation, the impact of mechanical ventilation and management of new-borns and infants following congenital heart surgery.
Our compassionate clinicians make a positive difference every day in the lives of the patients we care for.
