Asthma Training Module (ATM)
The Division of Paediatric Pulmonology, Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurgaon, Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP), Gurgaon & IAP Respiratory Chapter organised a day long Asthma Training Programme at FMRI on August 7, 2016. The organising committee comprised of Dr Krishan Chugh (Director & HOD Paediatrics & PICU, FMRI), Dr Neeraj Sharma (President, IAP Gurgaon), Dr Neetu Talwar (Paediatric Pulmonologist; FMRI) and Dr Shafiq Ahmad (Secretary, IAP Gurgaon). Delegates from across the country attended this workshop. There were 80 delegates, 7 faculty members and 4 junior doctors adding to a total of 90 participants.
With the aftermath of demonitisation in full swing and long queues of people standing for hours on end outside banks. This was an opportunity for FMRI to pitch in. A bunch of FMRI employees, wearing the hospital’s colour, went around different locations in Gurgaon and distributed bottles of water, Frooti tetrapacks and chocolate biscuits. The activity was carried on every day, for a period of ten days. Feeding someone water when their throats are parched, the twinkle in a disgruntled child’s eye on seeing chocolate biscuits, smiling people who didn’t expect to be taken care of... the feeling was priceless!
